Why prices are a range, not a single number

Two people needing "a crown" can be two genuinely different jobs. One has a tooth with enough structure left to hold it; the other needs a post built into the root first. One wants a metal-ceramic crown on a back tooth; the other needs zirconia on an upper front tooth where the shade has to match its neighbour exactly. Quoting a single flat price across all of that would mean either overcharging the simple case or short-changing the complex one.

So the figures above are honest starting points. At the free consultation we examine the tooth, take an X-ray if needed, and give you the actual number for your case in writing — before you commit to anything.

What affects the final cost

  • Material. Metal-ceramic, full-ceramic and zirconia crowns sit at different price points, and all three are clinically reasonable in the right situation.
  • Complexity. A single-rooted front tooth root canal is quicker than a curved three-rooted molar. A surgical wisdom tooth removal is not the same job as a simple extraction.
  • Preparatory work. An implant sometimes needs a bone graft or a sinus lift first. We tell you at the planning stage, not once you are in the chair.
  • Number of teeth. Per-tooth prices apply per tooth. Multi-tooth plans are usually quoted as a package and work out lower per unit.

Paying for treatment

We accept cash, UPI, debit and credit cards. For longer treatments such as orthodontics, the cost is normally collected in stages as the treatment progresses rather than in one payment at the start. Ask at the consultation and we will set out the schedule alongside the total.

On insurance: most Indian health policies cover dental work only when it follows an accident or forms part of a hospitalisation, so routine dentistry is usually self-paid. We will give you a proper itemised invoice and whatever treatment records your insurer asks for, so you can file a reimbursement claim if your policy does cover it.

A word on very cheap dentistry

A root canal at a fraction of the normal price is usually a root canal done in a hurry, without the X-ray needed to confirm the canals are fully sealed. The saving disappears the first time it has to be redone, and redoing one is harder and more expensive than doing it properly the first time. That is the actual argument for paying a fair price — not prestige.
